Car play is wireless, which is awesome and the connection is easily established every time i turn on the car (it is automatic).
The major con- you can’t get rid of the stupid clock graphic from the middle of the screen.
Most modern cars won’t have this problem but line is a 1991, and way back then auto antennas were all the rage.
Price
Wireless carplay is worth the extra spend.
Although you are buying this radio for 600 usd, you will be spending a bit more to make the system actually "complete".
The face plate i got was 150, which is about what you should expect to spend for a good one.

It was sent the day i ordered via fedex and arrived the next day.
Competitiveness
I have a 1991 toyota mr2 and replaced an aftermarket pioneer head unit with this one.
Also i highly suggest you go to crutchfield's website and get the maestro plug and play piece with the install kit.
In addition, i bought a comand face plate from ebay to allow a double-din installation.
I tried running the stereo without it and carplay would absolutely not work.

I did see the artist and song flash by once so im not 100 sure why but it seems to only display the radio station call letters via rds
