Pros

A little quirk it has is that every time you work on the battery and disconnect it, i'm pretty sure it resets this thing. My only issue is that when direct sunlight shines on it, the screen isn’t bright enough that the display becomes too dark.

It matches my car’s style, and allows for future expandability. It has a nice oem look to it. Elegance, reliability, performance.

Apple car play works great with my iphone 11. It syncs to my steering wheels controls perfectly. I love the audi settings and how easy it is to use apple car play. Apple has sold more than a million of these units.

Cons

Even with the latest firmware, the usb simply does not work reliably. Screen goes black for now reason when trying to connect to android phone. Rear camera input is blank regardless of replacing the harness twice.

It supposedly has a builtin mic (it does not). It's a beautiful screen that connects the bluetooth for music but doesn't do much else. The siriusxm radio has features which this sony doesn't seem to support, like pause and rewind.

After 10 mins. I have about a 30 minute commute each way to work and android auto will lock up every 10 to 15 minutes.

What a disappointment. Annoying but tolerable. This is incredibly disappointing.

Amazing product, touch screen has zero lag,car play is outstanding.

Biggest issue i ran into on my 2000 f-250 was not shaving enough of the top and bottom factory bracket off.

The crimp connectors supplied with the kit are all cracked exposing the metal causing many different random problems.

Price

I got a 33,000uf / 25v capacitor on ebay for around $10, don’t get one with any lower voltage rating.

The pin numbers on the schematic are for an nte r14-11d10-12 relay that i bought on ebay for $5.

For this price at minimum it should allow for custom backgrounds.

It's a decent unit for the price.

Competitiveness

You can get lower priced units from other companies with far more features than this at half the cost.

But it has carplay and sony has little to no competition at this price.
