I didn’t even know these padded undershorts existed until i started thinking of buying some padding and stuffing it in my shorts.

Highly recommended and excellent value for the money paid.
But still very good for the money.
Not great like 10-20 year ago $80 shorts you'd get from specialized, pearl iz.

The next day was a shorter ride and a little chillier so had jeans on with my riding pants and i didnt know how it would be so i didnt wear the shorts

Well halfway through that ride my back started up and i had to keep twisting and stretching to get through the ride only about 120 miles
