This does the trick and was easy to setup. It works great on both. I have yet to figure out how to set all that up with a raspberry pi3, but given enough time & youtube videos i may get that working too. It surpasses my expectation.
Cons
I'm quite displeased with both this device and the thoughtlessness of the company that developed it. This product is literally nothing. Basically its pacing is way off.
You have to unplug the usb connector and re-plug it in to make it work again. Getting a replacement out of amazone instead of a refund/re-order was more painful than anything to do with the sound card.

The install requires a reboot, trigger number 1. This is especially bad for a usb device driver. Drivers' programmers seem to be not just incompetent, but actively trying to sabotage their customers' computers.

When i first plugged it in there was notable improvement bass a little less muddled and higher clarity on the highend but youll have to play music loudly to hear it
