There is a hard plastic bumper around the whole sleeve that i feel would protect the laptop from small drops and bumps

Where the sleeve loses a star though is the flap that you take the laptop in and out of

Unfortunately thats very difficult with this sleeve because the flap on top does not stay open on its own
