These look like they may not last him long enough to outgrow them. Cannot walk in them without tripping myself over. If you only intend to wear these once or twice they're okay.

If you have wide feet be sure to select wide or else you wont be able to get your feet in them

Even in a wide size you still have to loosen the laces a fair bit to get your foot in
