This pencil is very high quality, all metal, precisely built and beautiful.
It's light but still has heft, the grip is great, no problem with lead breaking in the mechanism.
Staedtler is to the mechanical pencil what high end exotic car is to vehicle consumers as it truly delivers.
Price
Price has skyrocketed with time but since the university times (when i got my originals) quality has increased.

The lead sleeve being metal helps with protecting the lead and reducing breaking but ive found that softer leads still break easily for my oaflike hands

I use a separate 34pencil tube34 eraser because the eraser that comes with this pencil is tiny good to hold the lead in the tube but as an eraser
