Pros & Cons

Pros

The uni shift pipe lock is nice. The lead hardness indicator is easy to read, easy to adjust, and locks very securely. It comes with one preloaded 2h lead and you'll need to purchase the lead sharpener separately. This is the best lead holder we've se...  Read More

A nice weight/heft. Grip feels like velcro for human skin. However, the circumference of this staedtler pencil, is a bit bigger than my alvin's.

Only downside is it doesn't have an eraser. Works like a clock.

Cons

Lead advancement is good, but knurling and overall feel of the pencil is miserable. Won't work with staedtler 2mm rotary action lead pointer.

The cheap rattling near the reservoir cap. This flaw makes it a dealbreaker and nearly unusuable.

This seems to be poor execution on their part. Their customer support is non existent. Does not feel like german staedtler mars technico mechanical pencil.

The price is a bit much for me too.

Competitiveness

5mm mechanical pencils to compare:- uni kuru toga roulette : haven't touched this one in months.

The quality is not inferior to expensive analogues for 50 dollars.
