With the next two pencils i just didn't try to sharpen to a point and left a blunt edge lead adn then the wood was fine.

Bliss to use i am sad when i put it away

It sharpened the first pencil by chewing off the wood leaving an overly long piece of unsupported lead

If i tried for a point it began to be rough on the wood and never did make a point and just took off too much wood
