Pros & Cons
Pros
Comes with plenty of blades. Only takes a second to tighten. The blade itself is sharp and can be easily retracted back and forth.
The fat max model adds a blade snapper, which was sorely missing from the original knife. I do pack packages often and needed a sturdy and easy to operate cutter.
Cons
The blade loading mechanism is a * gimmick that ends up failing and a tiny amount of pressure and the blades come out. The catch is so small that it engages the rack by only half a millimeter.
Highlights
Quality
Feels quality in the hand and when the blade lock is on it's a much more durable knife.
Quite heavy but i like this, a sign of good quality.
I was looking for a quality cutting blade for ages online after the previous model i used became unavailable.
), but this one is very sturdy and stable.
Price
Easy to use and a very good price .
Packaging/appearance
It is the one i use most often to cut up cardboard boxes and general household packaging.
The packaging though was a plastic display backing (could have been card) and a shrink wrapped film to bind it.
So none of it could be recycled.
Competitiveness
Worth spending the extra when compared to cheaper models.
