That must be why i don't remember it being anywhere near this price.
Packaging/appearance
It is built very well and the blade is plenty sharp enough right out of the box.
I'm taking a star off because of the ding in the sole, complete with raised burr, right out of the package.
Great tool, was very well set up right out of the box.

I followed an article and video by chris gochnour in fine woodworking magazine which included sanding the sole flat filing some of the edges and oiling some parts

When i laid it down on my jointer table blade removed of course it did wobble ever so slightly so that would have been mentally annoying to me even if it didnt measurably affect its performance

That is take a file and remove some material as the blade would not seat right high on one side
