Pros & Cons
Pros
It’s compact and easy to use. Works as advertised. Easy and sturdy.
These are great for centering holes for hinges. Mounting hinges is a breeze! I build a fair number of projects that have tightly fitting doors so it is important that the holes be drilled with a fair degree of accuracy.
Cons
The pin fits sloppy in hole and strikes hole off center more often then not. The amount of play between the pin and the body is just unacceptable. This makes it maybe usable for a large door hinge but not a small striker plate.
