Pros & Cons

Pros

Between this and the spacer * to keep 1/4 spacing between the boards, our new decking looks fantastic! I also suggest you have pilot holes already drilled in the warped board to make it easier to drive the deck screws in.

This is far better than the boxed hollow steel ones advertised. There are better ones out on the market, with heftier prices, but this one suffices for the short-term use.

Worth every penny. Works great. Can't live without it. Flew with it. It flew faster.

My nickname for this is the persuader. Whatever you want to call it, it gets the job done! Definitely recommend this tool.

Cons

The pivot point is so weak any decent amount of pressure bends the metal. Some boards got damaged by the sharp corners of this tool.

Highlights

Quality

Works well with 2x6 decking and very durable.

This tool enabled me to get good results when installing 16' deck boards.

This tool is a must have for the poor quality big box store deck boards that are never straight.

As you know the pressure treated decking is not straight by any means!

Price

No need to spend top dollar for a board bender.

Well worth the money easy to use.

For the price, it was a good deal.

For the price don't build a deck without a board straightener.

Packaging/appearance

Came w/o any instructions, just in a plain box.

Looks like it was used before i got.

Competitiveness

This is far better than the boxed "hollow" steel ones advertised.

There is a couple like it on the market but none that work like the stanley.

There are better ones out on the market, with heftier prices, but this one suffices for the short-term use.

Here in florida, the most economical and commonly used decking is pressure treated pine, which has an affinity for twisting and warping.
