Pros & Cons
Pros
The brand is trustworthy, too. I'm glad this came with two, because i always seem to misplace the one i'm using. I like the price and how safe and handy these are.
This utility knife is still manufactured in the united states and is competitively priced with foreign made utility knives. Compared to those, the body of this knife is smoother, allowing you to apply maximum force on your cuts without hurting your ha... Read More
Cons
The blade falls out of the front of the knife, when properly installed. Once installed the blade would not retract or protract. This product comes with cardboard embedded in the slots, so that you cannot get cut by the blade.

Stanley has taken a well made and well known product and cheapened it to the point of being junk. Ridiculous minuscule illustration is of no help with the cheaply made components inside. Assembled in the usa with junk components.
Stanley classis is very light weight (130 vs 210 g) and less ergonomic. Do yourselves a favor, buy a different knife and save yourselves frustration.

Packaging/appearance
Before i would cut the packing tape and shove the box in the recycling bin as i could.
Competitiveness
None of them are compared to this simple design.
I did not find that installing the blade was any more difficult than it was with stanley utility knives that i bought 30+ years ago.
I've also used the stanley 10-499 and the sheffield 12115 (a lockback style utility knife).
