I contacted stanley three times via email just to be ignored

Then i sanded the welds down smooth masked off the area and hit it with some semigloss black rust stopper paint see image

The lid lock is a bit frustrating sometimes it gets stuck and i have to remove it in order to open or close and have to mess with it a while to get it to work again
