Reeling in or out functions poorly, hangs up both directions. Material of the tape is really bad, the tip of the ruler starts to twist. If i measure over 20’ when it retracts i have to push in the last 5’ manually.

What once was a stiff tape is now weak, floppy, easy to break and *. This one is heavy like a brick and bulky, which would be fine. Not the good durable stanley.

Turns out the locking mechanism was broken and unfixable. The thrum lock is very stiff. Even if you press the lock forcefully intp place, it pops back up.
