A high quality plane as this is the key to success in high end finish work

I have completed several projects using this planer and have been thrilled with the ease of use, ergonomics and durability of the edge.

I drilled and tapped holes for some set screws on either side just inside the mouth to guide the iron.

The sole was flat, not requiring much work at all.

It seems like if you bought a tool like this at a cheaper cost, you may find it to be hard to use, and not want to use it entirely.

Inside the factory box the plane was wrapped in heavy, oiled paper.
