I mounted the long part with the magnet to the baseboard toward the bottom edge of the door on the same edge as the doorknob

I bought this doorstop to replace one that stanley no longer makes that had a clasp that held onto a plastic tip that kept breaking

Not a lot of force is required to remove the door from the magnet and the door stays in place otherwise when not pulled

The original old doorstops loose rubber after use and they start to not hold well

This is quite nice and i give it 5 stars however it says its a 3 inch projection but that only applies to the doorstop so if you add the catch its 3 78 ths inches or nearly an inch longer

Really works as expected and looks nice would given 5 stars if the metal washers used on the stem looked a little polished but for the i really shouldnt even mention that
