I reused the existing shock cord so i didnt have to replace the entire length

I like that the kit includes a long steel rod to help get the elastic cord through the fiberglass poles but the steel rod is curved at one end

Then i used a small piece of masking tape to attach the new shock cord to the steel rod

Then i was able to quickly pull the new cord through all of the pole sections including the replacement one

I have a 10 or 15 year old 12 x 12 coleman tent with 11mm poles
