Quality
I got two to use for a sunscreen and with the storage limitations i have they'll work great.
I use these poles to set up shelters when we go camping and this pole works well with the tarps you buy at any hardware store.
If i ever do have problems with the locking mechanism, i will modify it.
This pole is strong but i've had a hard time keeping it the right length with the tightening mechanism, probably user error.
Price
The way it adjusts for the perfect length was the right solution for me and the price was right too.
Shipping
Shipping was peculiar, i ordered 4 and they came individually over the course of three days in boxes that could hold eight quite easily.
Competitiveness
Worked great to hold up one end of a 10x12 tarp.
Really, you can't buy the aluminum poles and make your own for the price.

The factory should have done a good three side dimples

The thumb screw of the height set goes through a hole in the outer tube so it bites and holds the inner tube at any desired height

I set the thumb screw to where its not biting the inner tube anymore then i used a hammer and chisel and tapped slightly deforming the screw threads and turned half turn and did again

Now if the thumb screw is backed off too far the damaged threads stop from going further

Now this is a sturdy pole no rust positive lock for only a couple bucks more than the cheesy ones save problems and money in the end
