But then i think of how much it would cost if i bought the next cheaper model pec fought with it for a whole year until it failed completely ruining at least one workpiece along the way

You probably want to get a larger starrett combo square too but for checking tools or other measuring devices as well as taking small measurements this tool cannot be surpassed

The price may seem a little steep but there is probably no greater favor you can do yourself and your projects than having dead accurate measuring devices
