It still fulfills its function so long as you're conscious of the inner protractor being properly aligned. Great tool for staircases and railings. Also helpful when fitting trim around walls and doors.

This tool allows me to absolutely nail the angles on repairs and upgrades.
This is a very useful tool to figure out miter cut angles.
The inner portion of the protractor can sometimes come a bit loose and wiggle around, causing a degree or two of inaccuracy.
That being said, it still fulfills its function so long as you're conscious of the inner protractor being properly aligned.

When youre cutting wood on a miter you need to be able to rely on your tools so it is a little disappointing to be off by a 1degree margin of error when your piece suddenly doesnt come together as flush as it should be

Buy it you will use it guaranteed especially if ur a carpenter

Yup it carries the starrett price differential but the quality is there and youll eventually make the money back on less scrap
