One button switch allows you to switch between two computers with one monitor. Save a lot of hassle going back and forth between computers.
"i am still in the testing phase trying to shake out any bugs in this kvm but if t holds up the way it is right now i'll be happy" easy to set up. You simply plug everything in and it works! Comes with a good instruction manual.
Metal construction is nice and sturdy as well. That's a high compliment to the starview. At a time when there is so much over-hyped plastic junk on the market, it's a pleasure to use a product this solid.
Switching is quick, though not instantaneous. Beeps satisfyingly when switching. There's just a momentary delay from one computer to the other.

Cons
Kvm switch is obsolete technology if your computers are networked. Frequently fails to switch the usb (keyboard and mouse) connections.
Vga connector is too close to the connector on the back of the starview unit. Vga is analog signal, and macs have dvi or mini display port (no vga) tech support said i should have bought a dvi kmv switcher.
My great buy is a major headache. The instructions provided with it aren't very good. Waste of money. And poorly supported junk at that.

I did have a little trouble out of the box but that's due more to my limited vision than anything.

Sure, there are much cheaper ones, but they usually don't have a usb hub, just the mouse/kb connection.

The switch i used to own would make the screen flicker and so on but nothing like that has happened with this product
