The only thing you’re giving up by choosing this cable over the belkin one is speed. It seems like a decently built cable for the price. Other cables from startech seem to be all good performers.

This 3 ft. Cable is a decent basic cable. It's nice to not have the cable jabbing into me.
Cons
The cable is not well enough constructed to handle usb-3. It's only compatable in the sense you can plug it into the port. Try a different brand - these are no good. You can only plug it in to the port if it is plugged into a thunderbolt port.
