The video quality is not hindered however everything really depends on the onboard graphics of the device and if it can support it.
Have no clue why this does not come with the vive.

I normally cannot connect to my surface devices into monitors because it only utilized the mini display port

Works great but some how it will not transmit audio to my dell monitor

It may be an apple issue as the hdmi port will transmit audio to the dell monitor
