Pros & Cons
Pros
My only complaint would it comes with 3 sets of screws/retainers for mounting your hardware into unit. Also has a grounding nut on it to hook up a grounding wire to.
Came fully assembled, and more specifically everything (except for removable crossbar bar) was solidly welded. Sturdy and easy to install.
Has same base demensions as the 6u. Works exactly as it should and once its mounted to a wall it is very sturdy. Uses it for the personal network at my home to house my 24 port switch and my router, modem.
Overall very happy with my purchase and looking at purchasing another one here soon. Good quality. Well worth the money. Really nice item.
A good depth to take a variety of equipment, but still shallow enough to fit unobtrusively in the back of a closet or cupboard. There is a horizontal brace that can be top or bottom mounted depending on what you have installed, which will give the rac... Read More
Cons
Should be at least 24 screws+nuts. The drywall anchors aren't the right size and you can't add mounting screws with them. The screws for this unit are slightly out of spec.
The stiffening bar interferes with the ability to mount anything more than a couple inches deep in that spot. The rails are not tapped and did not come with backing for standard rack screws to mount to. They only provide six of them and offer you to b... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Just getting the project started, but i'm very happy with the quality of the cabinet.
Either way, this is a very solid product.
I went overkill (and rather sloppy i'll admit) with the installation.
Price
These racks are awesome for the price, couldnt ask for a better deal than these.
The only holding it back from 5 stars is the price.
It might cost $40 to actually make it.
Packaging/appearance
This was my first time mounting a wall rack of any kind and i found the startech to be very straightforward to install.
Competitiveness
To house my new 8 bay qnap nas.
I’ve loaded it down wel past the manufacturer specs and it’s holds like a champ.
I find startech's decision to only include 3u worth of mounting hardware with a 6u rack a little disappointing especially consi... Read More
Looking at the mounts the plastic anchors actually broke (never seen that before), and there was less than 10lbs on the rack ( ... Read More

I find startechs decision to only include 3u worth of mounting hardware with a 6u rack a little disappointing especially considering how expensive their hardware is to purchase separately relative to their competitors

Some of the 1u devices items fit really tight and the mounting holes may be too close vertically
