Pros
Make sure the cable is secured tightly into the audio port on your device in order to minimise crosstalk. Works great with apple earpods. Allows me to use my credit card swiper with my ipad.
Cables are very sensitive to emi and rfi interferences. Using wired ones eliminates all those issues. Cables come with the surecom controller device.
Cons
Female connector end is not precise. Don't use this with i-rig adapter when using bias or jam-up apps. If you plug this into your computer, the female connector end of the cable is too small/tight for 3.
Too cheap to hassle with returning. Got a replacement with same issue so seems like poor manufacturing. Find something else, these have a good rating.

I use the laptop in clamshell mode so i have it pushed to the back of the desk and the cable length of the earphones is too short

I find listening to voice over a computer is not as clear and i have to raise my voice to use the mic

If you plug the extension into the mac before plugging in the headphones the mac wont detect the microphone input

I did not want to buy the roadtech gps to interface with my phone and corded headset but still needed to be able to take an emergency call

As a general rule i do not recommend riding a motorcycle and talking on the phone
