Pros

Inexpensive but works reliably. Works as advertised. Purchased after returning an io gear gcs62hu.

Home desktop runs windows 10 and work laptop runs windows 7. When connected to the laptop, the main monitor is secondary (laptop monitor is primary). Win one for the monitor. Works well to swap between my windows and linux machines.

Startech also allows you to use wireless mouse and keyboard on same dongle. Works great to switch between my laptop and my note 8 dex on my tv.

Cons

The only way to clear the error is to unplug the usb from the computer and plug it back it. It takes a long time to find the keyboard or mouse again, and sometimes it doesn't find them at all.

Audio from the source still comes through, but the tone is loud enough to drown out most things you could hear. This thing is super finicky. Random freezing is extremely frustrating.

Your better off taking your $70usd, and crumpling it into small balls and tossing them in a fire. Disappointing especially with the price tag.

Io gear is the better looking item and seems more impressively made, though startech works fine.

Price

Startech is about $20 more than io gear.
