I had the following problems1 the video image on the display was flickering slow upward moving wave and2 the mouse connected to the kvm switchs usb port was not working although the keyboard connected to the kvm switchs other usb port was working

After a bit of trouble shooting i determined that the kvm switch was not getting a sufficient amount of power from the two usb ports it was connected to one usb connection to each computer

This may have happened in my case because i was connecting the kvm switch to older computers that may not have been able to fully supply the expected power from a usb connection
