Pros

Fits perfectly in the icy dock dual 2. The micro sd slot is wonderful too.

Some people still have a modicum of pride. Could not be happier with it. The text labels makes sense, the design is intuitive, and—again—the quality is impeccable.

The two-pin connector i made just provides +5v and ground and works with no problem. All the ports on this one are at full usb 3 speed. I have two cf cards, a 128mb and a 256mb, and i believe when i bought them the 256 was the largest cf 1 could go.

Alright folks, heres a real review. This is not bad at all. Easily rep,aced my old unit. Hopefully, this helps with making a decision.

Startech model 35fcreadbu3, the usb 3. Mother board comes with pci express 2. Pci. Internal multi-card reader (35fcread bu3) works quite well. Startech also has a bay converter to make this fin into a 5.

Cons

The card slot is very shallow, this means you have to be careful when inserting your cf card. Once a pin bends, it's almost impossible to trust a device like this.

The sd card slot component of the reader is out of spec as it drags on all of my sd cards from several makes. Strangely the unit has two sd card slots but the width is so tight that on every card i used the lock switch would move back into the locked ... Read More

5in internal card reader that supports uhs-ii via usb3, and does that extremely well, reading at over 200mbps/1.

I first bought one of these in 2017 and had zero issues until last month, when the usb jack popped out.

Only quirk i encountered with these is the aforementioned usb jack: it was installed upside down on both.

Price

Given how positive my experiences with it had been over the prior seven years and inexpensive it is, i simply replaced it.
