Cons

Because of its unreliable nature, i now plug one of the three monitors into the dell hdmi jack to be sure i always at least one monitor that's predictable.

Using this splitter totally disabled all my wireless/wired connectivity upon usage. I guess it must have died internally since it is a usb powered unit.

The startech struggles to detect the 3rd monitor. Can't even get 1 monitor to display through the hub. I disconnect and re-insert the display port splitter but that does not work.

It does run a little hot but i bought the first one over a year ago and it hasn't failed once so the quality seems up to scratch.

So along with the three display port to x adapters, the entire setup cost around $50.

Packaging/appearance

Then, i realized i was running all 4 screens off of the chincy intel on-board graphics card in my laptop.

Competitiveness

I bought two of these and two startech mini display port extension cables - perfect combination for both my home and office setups.

Hope i hear from someone at startech asap.

Update 7/20/17 still have not been contacted by startech or even have them respond to my review.
