Pros
The unpowered hub is perfect for use with flash drives, an external mouse, or other low power devices. The powered adaptor works just like the unpowered adaptor if you leave the ac adaptor unplugged.
Great product, works as advertised. Haven't had any bumps or bothers even when they're all used. Seems a little pricey.
Cons
The cord on the unit is no more than 6. You are limited to the 10gbps or 20gbps (tb1) limitations of your port. I now have to copy over 8gb of data and checksum it to see if it is recoverable without being corrupted.

The cable is a bit short and quality is good but not great.
Price
It functions as it should, but for what the cost is i thought it would have a metal body.
Shipping
I can't say it is especially fast but adequate for my uses.
Packaging/appearance
1 gen 2 speed and that is just icing on the cake.
So far, so good, and it's been working great right out of the box.
But upon investigating and doing some test, i could not pass the 5gbps.

I have several startech products and have never had any problems with them.
I have multiple startech products and have come to rely on them for high quality items.
1 gen 1) and only capable of 5gbps and does not fully utilize the usb c standard.
1 gen2 speeds on what you hook to it, but sadly, i couldn’t get more than usb3.

I had to tell windows to not sleep or go into low power states on the usb ports in the power settings and the device manager

Prior to changing the windows 10 settings the oculus rift setup failed one to two sensors showed as usb 2

Apples emphasis on design over function these days now means i have to either upgrade everything i need to connect to my laptop or purchase adapters like this
