This is well made and has absolutely no defects.
Overall quality is very solid feeling, the ports are firm when you first start using them but should loosen up a little over time.
0 pins will cause severe system errors if not outright damage to components.
This is the ugliest hardware in the case, the color reminds me of 1980's ibm.
Price
A perfect expansion for the low cost.
A simple, inexpensive addition to make use of extra usb ports available in most mid to high-end motherboards.
For a total of $10, i now have six more dedicated usb ports!
Competitiveness
A problem i have had with prior versions of this item from other companies is that there is too much "wiggle room".
However, the pin-outs of the usb headers were different that then the startech cable was wired.

If they dont work you probably plugged them in to the wrong connection such as the 1394 connector on your board or somehow not very easy to do managed to plug it in backward

The picture makes the cables that connect to your motherboard look very short

Most of the other adapters only provided 2 ports even when they take up 2 headers

I would probably not recommend it if you one have one available header as you may always be tempted to plug into nonfunctional usb ports

Only way to be any better not that it needed to be would be an option for black insulation to fit in with darkened builds
