Pros & Cons
Pros
An extended 9. Micro cable to utilize the 4th port (usb-c) on this hub. This has four ports, three of which are usb-a. It adds 1 usb c and 3 usb a ports. You are not losing the usb-c port you use to hook it up to.
Works just like it should - splits out and expands your usb landscape. And, that makes this ultra convenient.
Using crystaldiskmark, results show no slowdown in hub vs i/o ports tests. Running 4 10tb usb hard drives from western digital and seagate. It, and the drive are very fast.
Highlights
Quality
Decent quality, does the job as advertised, it gets a bit hot sometimes but nothing to worry about.
Good quality and works exactly as advertised.
Build quality is superb, no flexing, rattling or gaps in the construction.
The image shows the crystaldiskmark comparison of the drive plugged into the hub versus directly into the laptop.
Price
It’s a nice little device to have but not very competitive price.
Packaging/appearance
On a side note, while looking at the packaging, the logo for startech is hard to find, made easy and i must agree, that is quite accurate.
Competitiveness

You'll need a displaylink adapter (cable matters model 202049) like the one i'm using or plug directly into the computer's usb-c port.

If you want gen210gbps throughput then the upstream connection must be a true gen210gbps port dont assume otherwise look for 10

Most user issues are because the user does not understand the upstream port capabilities andor cables involved

Dont assume that all upstream usbc pc ports or upstream hub ports are gen210gbps be certain
