Pros & Cons
Pros
Crystaldiskmark compares drive plugged into the hub versus directly into the laptop. Firmware on the hub is staying neutral and not interfering with data flow.
As far as speed, i'm not a techie but they're plenty fast for me. Gen2 speed. Throughput to one box at a time runs about 300-380mbps sustained throughput for a transfer cue of 100gb-1tb of files.
This does what i needed it to do and i am satisfied with it. And, that makes this ultra convenient. But, no issues yet. Have seen no hiccups at all. Works just like it should - splits out and expands your usb landscape.
An extended 9. Micro cable to utilize the 4th port (usb-c) on this hub. This has four ports, three of which are usb-a. It has enough from for 3 usb devices, as well as another usb-c port so that you are not losing the usb- c port you use to hook it up... Read More
Startech offers 2yr warranty for this product if you are on edge. I definitly recommend this addition. While looking at the packaging, the logo for startech is hard to find, made easy.
Cons
The hub itself is extremely lightweight and has a small cord. Can't get decent transfer speeds at all. Title says it all - plugged it all in, my laptop’s mb started beeping like an alarm.
Highlights
Quality
I do like having both the a and c ports at 10gso far has been good quality
The cable is durable and adequately flexible and the length appropriate for most needs.

Price
All totaled, this is decent data throughput for such a modest price.
A really, really nice hub at a great price!
Verdict: overpriced but there is nothing else in the market if this is what you need.
A bit expensive for a usb hub but its the only one with 2 decently fast type-c in a small form factor.
Shipping
I am waiting on a few additional drives & usb-a adapter cables to arrive.
Packaging/appearance
On a side note, while looking at the packaging, the logo for startech is "hard to find, made easy" and i must agree, that is qu... Read More

No they are not startech but they offer same warranty.
The transfer rate is decent- not super fast, but it is comparable to my older desktop so i am not that concerned with it anyway.
There was one runner up that i remember comparing this with but it was almost twice as expensive.
