I was extremely happy with the final result.
A nice well made product but still couldn't get my 20-year-old parallel printer to work even with the correct software & drivers.
I don't blame the cable or the product.
Again: the adapter works fine, it's windows 8.

Plugging it into the usb port before turning on the printer was seen as a new ieee 1284 device
