This adapter allows me to connect my legacy film scanner (with firewire 400 output) to my current mac, using apple's firewire 800 female-to-thunderbolt adapter. Works 100% with no issue.

Asked for a refund because my computer didn’t work with the ordered article anymore (firewire cable).
It's a firewire cable and the quality is ok!
