The cable works very well and is of sufficient length to allow for various locations and arrangements of the ups a pc
Instantly recognized and no issues installing powerchute software.
Was used as a replacement for a lost data cord so when the battery ran low the computer would shut off.
Plugged in, installed power chute (win7+ copy not current) and all recognised.
Price
This cord is a economical price, and works as advertised.
If you buy this cord directly from apc then you will pay double the cost.
Little bit expensive for what it is.
Just seems pricy for what it is but that's supply and demand.

The rj45 to usb a cable arrived quickly as stated when ordered.
I have ordered cable free of charge from apc, but i am still waiting for this to arrive.
Needed to get an hp server to control old apc ups (cs500).

That was not supplied in the box with apc ups.

The connector for the apc ups has an unusual 10pins which is not easy to find or custom make

Aps seem to have made a bit of a reputation for themselves in using nonstandard pinouts and connectors

Even the db9 marked serial doesnt use a standard rs232 db9 pin out it uses pins 1 and 2 for tx and rx compared to 2 and 3 s standard

Plug a standard rs232 cable in and it shuts down so beware that one too

I foolishly threw away the original and then i found out that you needed it to reset after replacing the battery
