The cable works perfectly. Connecting a laptop to an imac is a breeze. Bought to connect a minidp monitor to a dell ultrabook - works fine. Used to connect an old 27 inch imac to a newer 2019 mac air to use in target display.

Sometimes sound doesnt play from the imac but you just have to disconnect and plug the cable back in

I have been searching for a cable that would let me use my late model 2009 2734 imac as a target display monitor for my hp probook as well as my macbook air
