Pros
Cable has good compatibility with both dvi-a and d vi-d connectors. It works reliably for fast data transmission. Cable is a basic one, nothing special, but does connect what it's supposed to and works well. It has the 4 extra pins around the slot.
The picture is crisp and clear. It seems very heavy duty and provides great picture quality. It runs perfectly with my apple mac workstation. If hdmi is an option, i recommend that over dvi.
Startech cable works just fine and has easy to grip plastic screw handles. The fastening screws are easy to get your fingers on and tighten up. No problem passing the signal zero problems.
The cable is thick and appears to be solidly constructed. High quality thick material with good conductors. Only thing i don't like is the price and it may be a bit thicker than most people would want.
Cons
The description on this is a dual link cord but there is only one cord with dual male ends. The description should be changed asap. The web page says it is compatible with pc and mac. Use dvi-d instead.

Because its so big make sure you dont have any tight spaces because it wont make tiny bends easily

Just make sure your monitor and computer have dvii ports there are two pins above and two pins below the flat blade on this cable which are hard to see in the product picture

What they are receiving perhaps because there are multiple types of single and dual dvi

As you can see dvii has the four pins outside the main group of pins while dvid does nott

Most dvi devices are designed for dvid and their sockets do not have holes for the additional pins that dvii has
