This piece does the job perfectly and it's still working as i'm writing this today on dec 2023.

I used this to connect an older monitor with a dvi input to a computer with an hdmi output, and it works exactly as it should.

So reconnecting is easy and doesn't require fumbling trying to reconnect a dvi

This is short enough that it can just be left connected onto the back of a monitor when disconnecting from a computer.
