Pros

This docking station is exactly as advertised and works very well. I also find this light is of a perfect brightness level. Works as advertise.

The fan is quiet and adjustable. With more of the drive exposed, there seems to be more cooling. I like the fan to dissipate the heat off the drive, but it's pretty noisy.

Quality convinces customers that startech products are worth the little bit more that they cost. Drive dock is an essential part of every technician's workbench. Makes for easy swap out of hard drives.

This one feels more robust, has some weight to it. Works great and seems stable. Compact and sturdy.

Comes with both a usb 3 and esata cable along with a power supply. Plugged it in to hd24, powered the cradle, then powered hd 24. It's only a few cents more for a 6' usb3 cable.

Cons

When the system reboots, & as long as everything is functioning at the moment it comes up running. Speed adjustment is basically just a hum adjustment. Something is very wrong with the electronics controlling the fan.
