They will give you no end of problems because modern drivers blacklist the counterfeit chips and its all but impossible to install older drivers on modern versions of windows

The only sticking point was trying to pick the right driver on the cd in 7x86 windows picked the wrong one and i had to go and choose the uart one myself

This convertor works seemlessly and i even did not have to install win7 driver it was recognized by windows automatically and worked just fine

I plugged the cable into a usb port set the com port to 2 which the palm requires and connected it via the palm docking station to the cable end with rs232 connecter i got the palm desktop running and in the setup set the com port to 2

I put the palm m105 into the docking station and activated it by pushing the button on the docking station and it immediately linked with my pc
