It doesnt seem to pass through the detection of the display capabilities so if your current settings for resolution refresh rate are higher than what is supported by the display it might appear that the device is not working properly

I tested with a 2011 macbook pro and a sony tv in the end it worked just fine and first time

Id heard that the apple ones at one time had problems with duallink
