Pros & Cons
Pros
Fan is very quiet and seems to provide adequate cooling. Mounts fast, not very noisy. Only downsides are sensory; the aforementioned cooling fan is loud enough to become annoying.
Front ports for charging as well as connecting other usb devices. I use it as a media storage server where various devices streams files off it. The enclosure supports both esata and usb3 connections. A rear-mounted fan keeps the innards cool.
The startech s352bu33rer is a dual-bay external hard drive enclosure. Boot times are much better than the single disk they were all sat on previously. Sandisk 960gb ssd 2. Hd installation takes seconds. Running on 2013 imac, yosemite 10.
Cons
Total rubbish. Feels and looks cheap too. It is so flimsy and and the plug does not have a tight fit. On the good side it is small and portable and would have been great if it worked at all.
One day the unit was working fine, then all of a sudden i lose the mapped network shares in windows. Now i have a backup disc that refuses to mount, and if manually mounted, ejects itself within seconds.
If an enclosure failure, the disk you remove can't be read by anything else. You can't access your files unless you use exactly the same raid enclosure or at the very least, another enclosure using the same raid controller.

Quality
It's perfectly ok with the stock firmware, but it's even better once the firmware is updated.
But pretty easy to set up with the supplied marvell web interface.
I'd give it 5 stars if it shipped with the updated firmware but as it's now an eol product that's not going to happen.

Price is a shade high for what it is.
Shipping
I have one of these drives and it has been delightfully fast and stable for about six months.
Packaging/appearance
Read/write speeds are improved (no doubt due to the sata 3 interface on the startech).
Competitiveness
Loaded a 3gb file in a flash quite impressed with the speed so far.

The removal screw for the front cover is the worst thing about this item as its on the bottom of the unit not so much if you dont swap drives very often but you can always leave it off for easy access
