Pros & Cons
Pros
The pexsat34rh is a 6gbps raid controller card with hyperduo ssd tiering. It works with any size drive per sata spec (this question is perennial) using a port multiplier means upstream link capacity is shared with all downstream drives. Includes sff-8... Read More
They need to rewrite the on-line manual for better ease of use. But, the instructions are not lengthy. Only flaw is no raid 5. It was recognized immediately without any additional work.
Cons
This product is not compatible with newer intel motherboards with 10th gen processors. This card has a marvell 88se9230 chipset which does not have a complete ahci (advance host controller interface) commandset implementation. The only way to use this... Read More

Competitiveness
I had tried another controller but found that it wasn't compatible with the built in controller.
Got this to replace some other brand of pci-to-sata port card.
Also, the bios hdd for the startech card comes up as unit 0, and if you have a boot ssd drive plugged into the mb it makes wind... Read More
