Pros
Mini dock enables dual monitors to be employed. Lets me use my logitech unifying receiver for external mouse and keyboard.
The mini-dock is a great way to connect to your computer without the need for a brick. It features an 100/1000 ethernet, usb, and dual displayports. I do wish this had at least one more usb-a port, but other than that it’s fantastic.
The device attaches to thunderbolt ports and is compatible with the macbook pro and virtually all newer windows 10 compatible laptops. It just does the work with 2017 15-inch mbp with touch bar.
Cons
Mbp screen goes dark at the slightest physical jitter. Then after some annoying flicker, they turn back on again. Startech just says buy an active cable. Ethernet port dies after a while and requires reboot of mbp. Not even a flicker on the * version ... Read More

Using 2 of these on a 2018 macbook pro running windows.
Eliminate two or three cables round the back of the computer.
I do like startech products, they all seem to be solid, reliable, and this is no exception!

When this arrived i opened the box plugged it in with the two cables i had purchased also from amazon and it didnt work

One of the problems with smaller laptops is that while they are designed as high powered computers the small screen size can limit its functionality
