Cons

Tried to set up a decklink duo. Thunderbolt 3 ports do not work reliably. They are loose and make only intermittent contact. You could disable the fan and it would be silent, but is that something that you really want to do?

Very impressed by the build quality, although i wish the fans were easily user replaceable.

Threw a soundblaster zxr in it, had no issues, fit the daughter card as well.

The raid speed of these drives greatly outdoes my imac pro’s internal read/write speed.

I would probably prefer the 10 gb sfp+ card in the enclosure, but i am not willing at this time to spend at least $150 for a new card.

Competitiveness

I have attached black magic speed comparisons between the two setups.

I went with a non-startech adapter because at the time of purchase this was one seemed to be rated better by amazon users.

So thunderbolt is different than usb protocol.

Time will tell if the cable still pops out, but i think thunderbolt cables are much better in this regard.
