This enclosure uses the asmedia chipset rather than the cheap garbage jmicron chipset. Works great on an imac running catalina. Works well with synology nas hyper backup. It has a torrent client. It acts as raid mode 1.

For the price you can't beat it.
I am happy with it for the cost.
The stock fan was kind of cheap.

Once i contacted them, they quickly shipped a replacement.
Still haven't received it yet, but i'm sure after all the testing they did on this one before shipping it out that it will work fine.

It was packaged well and includes all the parts one would need to get it up and running.

Note that i did not use the builtin hardware raid 1 controller

Instead i left it in 34standard34 mode and built a linux software mdadm raid 1 configuration

That way if there ever is a problem or the enclosure dies i can pull the drives out and drop them into another enclosure

Other than that the original build of the mirror took around 14 hours and i reached over to feel how warm the enclosure was about midway through

Do not have the 220tb drives i ordered in for a few more days so i removed a 20tb drive from my system and installed it

The case screws were installed and two were slightly stripped on the heads the dip switches were in set to raid 1
