Pros

Startech network adapter works great with my dell xps 9570. Provides up to 1 gb transfer speeds. Bought two of these to build a three-interface router out of a raspberry pi 4. Use cat5e or 6 cables and a gigabit switch and router.

It does exactly what is says it will, and i'm thrilled with it. My mac instantly recognizes the device without the need to install 3rd party software. Works great on my windows 10 laptop.

Rasp ios buster is an excellent plug-and-connector. The omission of a rj45 jack just means that i started carrying a usb 3 to rj-45 adapter in my bag. The usb-c dongle provides a standard wired ethernet connector.

Cons

Works great, until it starts working only intermittently after several months.

This seems to be an old product as its documentation only mentions compatibility for windows xp, 7, 8 and 8. It will not install out-of-the-box on windows 10.

Either i'm really unlucky or this product is junk. Thanks so much for ripping me off. Not very happy with the shelf life of the item.

The usb-c connector has a positive tight fit into the port on the computer so does not wiggle or become disconnected accidentally.

Price

Not expensive and worked great and kept me up and running till i was able to replace the wireless chip.

Without a doubt, it's the best $25 i've ever spent on any kind of computer equipment ever.

Its a low price point, very small and portable, so its an easy way to provide ethernet connection to a device that does not have ports.
